Connecting to the server
Which sanctuary should I join — Vanilla Plus or PvP?
Vanilla Plus is our modded PvE sanctuary with the website shop, Blood & Scrap, raidbases, leaderboards, and plugins. PvP is vanilla Rust PvP with a max team size of 2, no plugins, and no website economy — just connect and play. Compare IPs on How to connect.
Is there a promo code for new players?
Yes — new players can redeem promo code WELCOME26 for a one-time welcome gift of 5 Blood, while the limited claim run lasts. Log in with Steam and redeem it from the Wallet page.
How do I join Vanilla Plus?
Use How to Connect: press F1 in Rust and run client.connect with the Vanilla Plus IP, search the server browser for RustLords Sanctuary, or use Join Vanilla Plus on the homepage.
How do I join PvP?
Open How to connect → PvP for the current IP (published in Owner Admin / Discord when live). PvP has no website shop or inventory rewards.
I cannot connect — what should I try?
- Restart Rust and Steam.
- Disable VPN or proxy temporarily.
- Confirm you used the IP for the correct sanctuary (Vanilla Plus vs PvP).
- Confirm the server is online on the homepage status card.
- Check Discord for maintenance or wipe announcements.
What is the Vanilla Plus server IP?
37.187.133.205:28015 — full connect steps and copy button on How to connect. In Rust press F1 and run client.connect 37.187.133.205:28015.
How do I find my SteamID64?
In Rust press F1 and type status — your SteamID is in the list next to your name. You can also look it up on steamid.io using your profile URL. Staff need this 17-digit ID for support tickets, refunds, and delivery help.
About RustLords Sanctuary
Is RustLords Sanctuary a good Rust server to join?
RustLords Sanctuary is an EU Rust community, live since January 2026, with two sanctuaries: Vanilla Plus (protected PvE, no offline raiding, website shop, Blood & Scrap economy, raidbases, events, and the Lords' Story) and PvP (true vanilla Rust PvP, max team of 2, no plugins, no website economy). Vanilla Plus wipes monthly, PvP wipes weekly, and both share one Discord community. Check the rules and connect pages for current details, then decide for yourself.
What kind of server is this?
RustLords runs two EU sanctuaries. Vanilla Plus is protected PvE with the website shop, Blood & Scrap, and plugins. PvP is vanilla Rust PvP with a max team size of 2, no plugins, and no website economy. On Vanilla Plus you can build and progress without random offline raids; optional consensual PvP (duels) and a full-vanilla Deep Sea zone exist for players who want risk by choice. See Rust basics tutorial, Getting started, and How to connect.
When does the server wipe?
We run monthly wipes with fresh leaderboards and story progress. Exact dates are posted in News and on Support. 23 hours before wipe, server-wide purge begins and PvE protection is turned off — plan accordingly.
What resets on wipe?
- In-game bases, inventories, and map progress (standard Rust wipe).
- Monthly wipe leaderboards (trivia, gathering, events) — see Leaderboards.
- Unspawned raidbases bought with Scrap expire at the next wipe (bases already spawned on the map are separate).
- Some coupon codes are wipe-scoped and must be redeemed during the wipe they were issued.
- Website Blood balance, most store inventory items, and account links generally carry over unless staff announce otherwise.
Where do I see live server info?
The homepage shows population, wipe boards, map vote, news, and a live activity feed. In-game, type !pop for player count or !discord for the invite link.
I am new — where do I start?
Read the Rust basics tutorial if you have never played Rust before (vanilla mechanics + our server notes). Then Getting started for connect steps, Blood, and Discord. Technical IP details are on How to connect.

In-game & on the server
PvE rules, combat zones, events, trivia, and commands while you play Rust.
Gameplay basics
What is PvE on RustLords Sanctuary?
PvE (player vs environment) here means you are protected from other players by default. Strangers cannot damage you, loot you, or raid your base while your protection is on. You still fight scientists, animals, radiation, and monuments like normal Rust. This is not a no-combat server — you choose when to opt into PvP through duels or by entering the Deep Sea zone.
Can other players raid or steal from me?
No, not while your PvE shield is active (/pve on). Raiding, stealing from active bases, and looting sleepers are against the rules. You may only loot broken boxes (gray bags) in fully decayed bases. Teammates are not protected from each other — only authorize people you trust on your TC. See Rules §10.
What does /pve on and /pve off do?
/pve on— enables your safety shield (default when you join). Your body and TC-authorized base are protected from outsiders./pve off— turns protection off. You accept full vanilla risk; staff do not refund losses while it is off.- Always run
/pve onbefore logging out. Avoid logging out in safe zones. - Deep Sea disables PvE automatically in that area.
Is the Apartments complex a safe building zone?
Yes. The Apartments complex is a full PvE zone on RustLords Sanctuary. Player bases and loot there are protected — other players cannot raid you in that area while normal PvE rules apply. It is treated like a permanent safe build zone, not a PvP or purge target under regular play. During wipe purge (about 23 hours before reset), server-wide rules still apply — see the wipe purge question below.
What is wipe purge?
About 23 hours before each monthly wipe, server-wide purge begins: PvE protection is turned off for everyone and the map prepares for reset. Treat this window as high-risk — secure loot or accept that bases may be vulnerable.
When is the wipe? The homepage shows a live Next Wipe countdown — official time (London), your local time, and how much time is left. Major announcements also go to News and Discord.
Do I have to call monuments and events?
Yes — major monuments, public/personal airdrops, Bradley/Heli, and admin raid base activity should be called in chat. The first player on-site has priority for puzzles and hackable crates. Use /call in-game for call command help. Bradley/Heli: first tag owns the fight and must announce it. See Rules §9. For on-site rules, autocall, and reporting misfires, see the question below.
How do monument calls work? (on-site only, autocall)
Calls only count when you are physically at the monument or event you are claiming. You must be on-site first — you cannot call from somewhere else and then run over afterward.
- Autocall is a helper only. Always check chat and confirm the correct monument or event was announced.
- If autocall did not fire, stayed silent, or called the wrong place, use
/calland post the call manually immediately. - Bradley, Heli, airdrops, excavator runs, and admin raid bases follow the same idea: be there, call correctly, respect turn-taking.
- First player properly on-site and called in chat has priority for puzzles and hackable crates.
If you believe autocall is broken, open a website support ticket (not in-game DMs; Discord optional) with screenshots showing where you were standing, which monument you were at, what autocall posted (or that nothing posted), and what you expected it to say. Staff can investigate from there.
Can I take the same monument or event again right away?
No — you cannot spam the same monument or world event every time it spawns if other players are waiting for a turn. Let others have a go first. You may only run it again when nobody else is waiting and the event is clearly going unclaimed.
Examples:
- Cargo ship — you can join a second run only if the ship leaves the second harbour with crates still on board and no one is heading out to take it. If others want a turn, they get priority.
- Patrol helicopter — you can take it again only if it has been on the map for a while and no one is actively trying to shoot it down or call it. Do not immediately reclaim every fresh spawn while others are waiting.
- Same idea for Bradley, major monuments, excavator runs, and admin raid bases: one player should not hog every spawn. See Rules §9.
Any important base-building rules?
- Max 4 windmills and 2 searchlights per person or team per base.
- Do not fully block rivers — leave a 2-foundation-wide, 1-wall-high water passage.
- Shotgun traps and flame turrets must stay inside your base footprint.
- External auto turrets must be on peacekeeper mode.
Full list: Rules §10.
Are my teammates protected from each other?
No. PvE shield only blocks strangers. Anyone on your tool cupboard authorize list can still damage you and your structures. Only add people you trust. Duels and war groups are the intended way to fight friends with consent.
Is there a limit on the Excavator?
Yes — 45 minutes or 20 diesel per run, whichever comes first. Respect turn-taking if others are waiting at monuments. See Rules §9.
How do I claim an admin raid base?
- Call the raid in chat when you start (see monument call rules).
- Tag the base and run
/raidclaim yes— your first hit deals zero damage until you confirm. - Commit: break at least one wall or door. Claims last up to 24 hours.
- When finished, destroy the TC and run
/raided. Transfer claims with/raidgive <name>.
PvE, duels, war groups & combat zones
How does PvE protection work?
Protection is on by default when you join. With /pve on, strangers cannot damage you or raid your base. Teammates are not protected from each other. Use /pve off only if you accept full vanilla risk — losses while off are not refunded. Always enable protection before logging out. Full details: Rules §5.
How do duels work?
Send /duel <name> to invite another player. When accepted, both can fight and loot each other until either runs /pve on. Third parties must not interfere. See Rules §6.
What are war groups?
A bigger version of a duel. /war create starts a war group, and anyone can /war join <name> it. Everyone inside the same war group can freely fight, loot, and raid each other — outsiders stay fully protected either way. Use /war leave to exit, and /war to list members. You cannot use /pve on while in a war group. See Rules §6.
What is the Deep Sea zone?
Deep sea is Facepunch’s offshore Naval Update region (Ghost Ships, Floating Cities, tropical islands) — see the official Naval Update and our Rust basics tutorial. On RustLords it is also full vanilla PvP and raiding: PvE protection is disabled there automatically. It is a zero-admin-interference zone — no item recovery if you lose gear. Admins in deep sea are valid PvP targets. See Rules §7.
What are admin raid bases on the map?
Staff-spawned raid bases follow call/claim rules: tag with /raidclaim yes, commit to breaking in, and respect 24-hour claim limits. These are separate from personal raidbases you buy on the website. See Rules §11.
Events, trivia & leaderboards
How does chat trivia work?
Trivia questions run in-game via our server plugin. Answer in chat when a round is active to earn points. Monthly wipe leaderboards track the top scorers — see live boards on the homepage and full rankings on Leaderboards. Your personal trivia rank appears on Account when stats are synced.
What leaderboards exist?
Wipe-scoped boards include trivia, resource gathering, playtime, and event stats. They reset each monthly wipe. The homepage rotates live previews; Leaderboards has the full list. Stats sync from the game server through our WebBridge plugin.
What other events happen on the server?
- Admin raid base spawns and monument calls (see Rules §9–11).
- Community gallery and player build showcases on Gallery.
- Special admin events (e.g. nuclear strikes, seasonal activities) — announced on Discord and News.
How do I share my base on the website gallery?
Visit Player Builds (also linked from Gallery), sign in with Steam, and open Submit Your Build. Upload screenshots and a short description. Submissions are community showcases — not the same as buying a raidbase blueprint.
Website features
rustlords.com account & tools
Steam login, Discord linking, wallet, store, inventory, and community pages.
Steam login & account
Do I need Steam login on the website?
Steam login is required for Wallet, Store purchases with Blood, inventory, referrals, map voting, and profile features. Browsing news and connect guides works without login.
I logged in with the wrong Steam account
Log out from the account menu (sidebar or top bar), then sign in again with the Steam profile you use on the server. Purchases, Blood, inventory, and deliveries are always tied to the Steam account that was signed in at checkout — we cannot move them without staff review.
Where do I set my receipt email?
On Account → Profile settings after Steam login. Stripe uses this address for Blood purchase receipts. It does not change which Steam account owns your wallet.
Discord linking
How do I link Discord to my Steam account?
- Sign in with Steam on the website (same Steam account you use in-game).
- Open Link Discord on the homepage (Supporter Integration) or on your Account page.
- Approve the Discord authorization prompt. You must allow identify and guilds.join so we can add you to the RustLords Discord server.
- When linking succeeds, the button shows Linked and your Discord username appears below it.
Why should I link Discord?
- Support tickets — ban appeals, demolition requests, and payment help run through Discord, not in-game DMs.
- Supporter role — after you buy Blood with real money, linking Discord grants the Supporter Discord role (plus in-game supporter group perks).
- Authenticated role — staff may grant a linked-player role so you can access member channels.
- First-link reward — when enabled, you may receive a one-time random reward (Blood or an item) the first time you link Discord on this Steam account.
- Announcements — wipe times, events, and maintenance are posted there first.
How do I unlink or re-link Discord?
On Account → Discord, click Unlink Discord and confirm. You can link again anytime with Link Discord. Re-linking does not grant the first-link reward twice. Unlinking may remove Discord roles tied to your Steam account until you link again.
Discord linking failed — what now?
- Make sure you are signed in with the correct Steam account first.
- Complete the Discord prompt without closing the tab early; if it says expired, try again.
- Disable ad blockers or privacy extensions that block OAuth redirects.
- Join our server manually via discord.gg/YYCqtzCsHR, then retry linking from the website.
Do I still need to join Discord if I linked on the website?
Yes — linking connects your accounts and can auto-join you to the guild, but you should still open Discord for tickets and announcements. Type !discord in-game anytime for the invite URL.
Blood & wallet
What is Blood?
Blood is virtual currency on this website used in the Shop for supporter items and services. It is not cash and has no value outside our services except where refunds apply by law or policy.
How do I buy Blood?
Sign in with Steam, open Wallet, choose a pack, enter your receipt email, agree to our policies, and complete checkout with Stripe. Blood is credited to the Steam account you are signed in with.
Why are there two checkboxes before checkout?
UK and EU law require you to agree to our Terms, Privacy, and Refund policies, and to confirm you want immediate delivery of digital content (which affects your 14-day cancellation right once Blood is credited). See Refund Policy for details.
How do I buy something from the Store?
- Sign in with Steam.
- Buy Blood on Wallet if you need balance (or use existing Blood).
- Open Shop — supporter items use Blood; raidbase tiers use Scrap (separate tab).
- Click buy on the item. Blood or Scrap is debited immediately.
- Open Inventory and Send to game (or Spawn to game for raidbases) while awake on the server.
Scrap, raidbases & coupons
What is Scrap and how is it different from Blood?
Scrap is website currency earned in-game or from events — used mainly for the raidbase shop and Scrap wheel. Blood is bought with real money (Stripe) and powers supporter store items. Both balances show on your Wallet page when signed in.
How do I get Scrap?
- Redeem coupon codes on Wallet (event prizes, staff codes — format like
RL-SCRAP-…). - Win Scrap on the Scrap wheel (when enabled).
- Some promotions, referrals, or Discord link rewards may grant Scrap or items — check Promotions.
How do I redeem a coupon code?
Sign in with Steam, open Wallet, enter the code in the redeem box, and click Redeem Coupon. Codes can grant Scrap, Blood, or free store items. Many codes expire at the next monthly wipe if not used in time.
How do website raidbases work?
A website raidbase is a pre-built base blueprint you buy (or win) on rustlords.com and spawn on the live map for your team to live in or raid. It is not the same as staff “admin raid bases” — those are shared event bases with /raidclaim rules.
- Buy a tier in the Store → Raidbases with Scrap, or win one on the Scrap wheel.
- It appears under Inventory → Raidbases.
- Join the server awake (standing, not dead or sleeping) in open terrain.
- Click Spawn to game. The server places the base within 35–500 m of you, or searches the whole map if needed.
- Your spawn location is saved — see pins on Inventory → My raidbase map.
Unspawned raidbases expire at the next monthly wipe. Once spawned, the base is a normal in-game structure (TC, decay, etc.).
What can I do with a spawned raidbase?
Treat it like any player base: authorize teammates on the TC, store loot, add defenses (follow server trap/turret rules), and defend it. PvE protection covers it the same as a hand-built base while your /pve on shield is active. You cannot “pick it back up” into inventory after spawn — it stays on the map until decay or wipe.
Can someone else raid my spawned raidbase?
Not while your PvE protection is on and rules are followed. During wipe purge or if you run /pve off, normal risk applies. Other players cannot grief or raid you outside those cases — report rule breaks via Discord ticket.
My raidbase will not spawn — why?
- You must be online, awake, and not in a safe zone or tight monument area.
- Staff must enable spawn for that tier (Raidbase Economy settings).
- The map may be crowded — try a quieter area or ask Discord support.
- If the raidbase expired from a previous wipe, it cannot be spawned — buy or win a new one.
Scrap wheel
What is the Scrap wheel?
A weighted prize wheel on the Scrap wheel page. You pay Scrap per spin for a random reward — items, raidbases, bonus Scrap, or Blood. Odds and slice colours are listed on the page. Sign in with Steam to spin.
Where do wheel prizes go?
Items and raidbases land in your Inventory. Scrap or Blood wins credit your Wallet immediately. Join the server awake to deliver physical items with Send to game.
Are there spin limits?
Staff can set daily or per-wipe spin caps. Your remaining spins show on the wheel page when limits are active. The wheel can be disabled during maintenance — check Discord or News if the button is greyed out.
Store, inventory & delivery
How do I redeem a store item to my character?
- Sign in with Steam (same account you use in-game).
- Buy with Blood on the Shop, win on the wheel, or redeem a coupon on Wallet.
- Open Inventory — your item appears under Ready when it can be sent.
- Join RustLords Sanctuary awake with free inventory slots (main belt + backpack space).
- Click Send to game on the item card. Delivery usually takes a few seconds via our server plugin.
- Check your in-game inventory — large stacks (e.g. modded items) need enough space for the full quantity.
What is the difference between Send to game and Spawn to game?
- Send to game — most items (weapons, resources, kits, etc.) go into your player inventory.
- Spawn to game — raidbases only. Places a full base on the map near you.
- Vehicles (minicopter, boats, etc.) — spawn on the ground near your position when you send them; join awake in open terrain with space around you. They do not appear inside your inventory pockets.
Raidbases are under Inventory → Raidbases. Everything else uses the main Inventory tab.
Inventory says Failed or offers Retry — what now?
- Join the server awake with enough inventory space (or clear area for vehicles/raidbases).
- Click Retry on the item card in Inventory.
- Wait out server restarts — deliveries poll about every 20 seconds from the game plugin.
- If it keeps failing, open a website ticket with SteamID64, item name, and the error time (UTC).
Do website items expire?
Most store items do not expire — they stay in Inventory until you send them. Raidbases bought with Scrap expire at the next monthly wipe. Scrap wheel catalog prizes only expire when the owner has turned on wheel prize expiry in Owner Admin — and then only for wins after that toggle. Older wheel items never gain an expiry date. Some coupon codes are also wipe-scoped and must be redeemed in time on Wallet.
I paid but did not receive an item in-game
- Be online on the server with inventory space — you must be awake, not sleeping.
- Open Inventory, find the item, and click Send to game if it is waiting.
- Allow a few minutes after purchase; server restarts or wipes can delay delivery.
- Raidbases use Spawn to game instead of Send — see the raidbase FAQ above.
- If Blood or Scrap was debited but nothing arrived, open a website ticket with timestamps and your SteamID64.
What is blueprint wipe on Inventory?
When enabled, you can wipe your learned blueprints once per wipe and receive one random configured reward. Roll the reward on Inventory, then join the server awake — blueprints clear in-game automatically and the prize is delivered. You cannot roll twice in the same wipe unless staff reset your claim.
How does map voting work?
Before a wipe, staff may open a map vote on the homepage. Sign in with Steam to cast one vote per session before the deadline shown on the card. Results help pick the next map seed.
Can I transfer Blood or items to another player?
Blood and purchases are tied to your Steam account. Transfers are not supported unless a staff-approved exception applies.
Supporter perks (Blood)
What do I get after buying Blood?
- In-game supporter group — queue priority, name colours (set from the website's Tools page), and other Oxide perks on the server.
- Store access — spend Blood on supporter items delivered to your Steam inventory.
- Discord Supporter role — after linking Discord on the website (see Discord linking above).
- Supporter channel — sneak peeks and community chat on Discord.
Perks apply to the Steam account that purchased Blood. Full overview on the homepage Supporter Integration card.
I bought Blood but did not get the Discord Supporter role
- Sign in with Steam using the same account that paid.
- Link Discord on Account or the homepage.
- Wait a minute and re-open Discord. If the role is still missing, open a ticket with your SteamID64 and Stripe receipt.
Do supporters get queue skip?
Yes — after a real-money Blood purchase you are added to the in-game supporter Oxide group, which includes priority queue during busy periods. Perks apply automatically on the server; allow a minute after purchase if you are already connected.
Is buying Blood pay-to-win?
Blood buys convenience and cosmetics-style perks (queue skip, name colours, supporter items). It does not bypass PvE rules or grant unfair combat advantages on this PvE server. Gameplay progression still happens in Rust; see Shop for what each item does before buying.
Community reviews
How do I leave a review on the website?
On the homepage, log in with Steam and submit a 1–5 star rating with your written feedback.
Referrals & promotions
How do I get my referral invite link?
Sign in with Steam and open the account sidebar on Wallet, Store, Inventory, or Promotions. Copy your personal invite URL and share it — friends must open it and sign in with Steam before they rack up much server playtime. Track milestones on Promotions.
How do referral rewards work?
Share your invite link from the account sidebar. Friends should use it before they accumulate much playtime on the server. Progress and tiers are on the Promotions page.
Why did my referral not qualify?
Common reasons: friend played too long before using your link, referral program disabled, or anti-abuse limits. Check the message on Promotions or ask staff on Discord.
Support & policies
